Local Mid Century furniture shop Mr. Bigglesworthy held their third presentation of The Annual New Zealand Collection on Thursday 17th October. On display, some of the countries most immaculate design pieces of Kiwi Mid Century.

Opening the collection stood a pair of Tibor Donner chairs. As one of Auckland's most influential Architects through the 1950's his modernist building stretch across the city from Parnell Baths, in 1951 to the City Council Administration Building, in 1954. It's easy to forgive these monstrous chairs as a result of the early Mid Century explorations into materiality and form, which came to shape a bold future for New Zealand furniture design.
Owners Dan and Emma Eagle, alongside their local Kingsland restoration team have managed a well balanced collection that reflects the depth of a fairly unknown NZ Mid Century Design scene. From the likes of Jon Jansen each space has been put together in collaboration with Dulux NZ colour features.
